GMPT annual meeting coming up Oct. 9

Summer is winding down and we are gearing up for our annual meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Initiative Foundation in Little Falls.

It will be a full day, with a presentation on trail management practices including the newest techniques and technologies being used to capture demographics, usage type, usage trends and activities. We will also hear from some of our business members about what they have to offer as we seek to improve our agencies and parks and trails systems. In addition to these topics, we will discuss the importance of master planning and how to turn the lesser-used spaces within your parks and trails system into native prairies and pollinator plantings. Between the presentations and voting on board members, it will be a busy meeting!

Please RSVP here as soon as you can so that we can better plan for the meeting. The $20 fee includes lunch.

Nominations open for GMPT 2020 Board

In addition to the presentations and discussions mentioned above, we will also be electing the GMPT’s 2020 Board of Directors at the Oct. 9 meeting. In accordance with our by-laws, nominations are open for several board positions: vice-chair, and Districts 2, 4 and 6. If you have any questions about the duties involved with serving on the board or if you would like to nominate yourself or anyone else for any of those positions, please email GMPT Chair Ted Suss at tedlsuss@gmail.com or greatermnparkstrails@gmail.com.

If you are interested in getting more involved with the GMPT but are not yet ready to serve on the board, please let Ted know and he will help connect you with one of our subcommittees.
