GMRPTC releases 2023 Policy & Planning Report

Below is a message from GMRPTC Executive Director Renee Mattson. You can reach her at renee.mattson@gmrptcommission.org.

I looked back at the report for December 2022, and the first line was, “What a great winter!”—what a difference a year makes. I’m sad for all of us that we cannot enjoy snowy winter activities and recreation. Fingers crossed for a big shift in the weather pattern soon!

GMRPTC 2023 Policy & Planning Report

The Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission (GMRPTC) publishes an annual Policy and Planning Report that describes the activities and work for the year. This report is shared with the Legislative Legacy Committees and provides highlights of the Greater Minnesota system, the work plan, and, most importantly, the projects that are recommended for Legacy funding. A list of the FY25 projects and descriptions can be found on page 5.

The report is available in hard copy and—new this year—in a Flipbook format on the GMRPTC website. Click here to view the 2023 Policy and Planning Report.

There were 20 eligible applications, with 14 projects awarded funding in addition to a grant fund for Emerging Opportunities that will be used as needs are identified. The next grant cycle will open on April 1, 2024.

On behalf of the GMRPTC, we wish you and yours a Wonderful New Year!
