GMRPTC Update: Coming soon – a new sign!

Below is a message from GMRPTC Executive Director Renee Mattson. You can reach her at renee.mattson@gmrptcommission.org.

Anyone who has received a Legacy grant would have to agree that the Legacy logo (posting the sign is a requirement of receiving a Legacy grant) is extremely well done and makes a great impression. The colorful logo represents the four funds in a playful but thoughtful way and is likely well remembered by all who see it.

For some time, the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission (GMRPTC) has been discussing the need to make the GRMPTC logo a part of the landscape for parks and trails receiving Greater Minnesota Legacy funds. Happily, that day is nearly here.

We’ve been working with a vendor to make a metal sign that is as weather, graffiti, and nuisance behavior-proof as possible.

In addition, we are working on language for another sign that will briefly explain what the Legacy logo sign signifies and the incredible impact Legacy has had on parks and trails in Greater Minnesota. This initiative is particularly important as we have now passed the halfway mark of Legacy and are now only 10 years from the tax sunset—hard to believe! There is an urgent need to educate Minnesotans on the importance of Legacy, now and into the future.

We look forward to making the deliveries during the park and trail visits that we so enjoy!
