Join us for Legislative Action Day on March 21
The primary mission of the Greater Minnesota Parks and Trails (GMPT) is advocacy on behalf of park and trail funding for Greater Minnesota and fending off legislative actions that would make parks and trails development and operation more difficult and expensive.
Each year, GMPT hosts a Legislative Action Day where we invite all of our members and supporters to visit the State Capitol and meet with your legislators to stress to them the importance of parks and trails to your local community.
This year, our Legislative Action Day will be held Wednesday, March 21. We start the day with a review of the GMPT’s legislative goals for the current session and an overview of any legislation, good or bad, that is of concern to GMPT and to our members. You can use this information when you speak with your legislators.
To make your trip to the GMPT Legislative Action Day even more worthwhile, we are including a discussion session with the Greater Minnesota Parks and Trail Commission with pointers and tips on how to increase the chances of getting your park or trail regionally designated or getting your application for funding approved.
