GMPT Bonding Forum – Friday, April 9 at 1:30 p.m.

A question we frequently hear from our members is whether they should pursue state bonding for a park or trail project, and if so how? If you’re curious about that question and want to learn more, join us April 9 for a one-hour presentation/forum on bonding for parks and trails with lobbyist Elizabeth Wefel. In addition to lobbying for the GMPT, Elizabeth has successfully lobbied for bonding funds for parks and trails as well as other projects. She’ll walk through whether your project might be eligible, what you need to do now to prepare for your request, and how to move it forward through the legislative session.

GMPT Legislative Forum – Friday, April 16 at 1:30 p.m. (and every other Friday through May 14)

GMPT Forum on Visitor Counts – Thursday, April 22 at 1 p.m.

For this forum, we are bringing in some “experts in the field” to share ideas and options for our members to do visitor counts and help determine what might be best suited for their park or trail. Our guests will include Brigid Tuck and Ardy Nurmi-Wilberg from Minnesota Tourism Center and Brett Feldman from Parks and Trails Council. There will also be opportunities for members to give feedback and discuss which visitor count methods have worked (and which haven’t) for them.
