Legacy bill first to clear the Legislature

After several weeks of negotiations, the Minnesota Legislature is beginning to move forward with budget bills. The first bill to advance was the Legacy bill, HF 13, which passed the House floor on Saturday and the Senate floor today.  It is now on its way to the Governor’s desk for signature.

This bill includes one of our top priorities – nearly $22 million in Legacy funding for the regional parks and trails of Greater Minnesota. It also includes funding for the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission. Language that would have imposed new additional burdensome requirements on recipients of the Legacy grants was removed.
