No Child Left Inside grant wins the popularity contest again
If you missed out on this grant again, you’re not the only one! The DNR’s No Child Left Inside Phase 3 Mini Grants program closed only 1.5 hours after it opened on Dec. 2 and the funds were eaten up by first-come, first-served applications. The $200,000 available for Phase 3 will be used to fund an estimated 45 projects.
Don’t give up hope, persistence could pay off with this grant program. The nice thing is they offer the funding in several cycles and there’s still more opportunity to re-submit your grant. The DNR is working on plans for Phase 4, which will offer larger grants of $5,000-$49,999 with approximately $250,000 in grant money that will be available in winter of 2021-22. Phase 4 projects likely will be able to start in summer 2022. Additional phases are expected to be announced later in 2022 and in early 2023. If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again! Good luck on clicking the submit button fast enough next time.
This just goes to show how important our educational efforts are to the youth of Minnesota. Congratulations to those who were lucky enough to make it through and win the grant award!
