Register now for GMPT’s Summer Membership Meeting!
If you haven’t done so already, don’t forget to register for the 2024 Summer Membership Meeting co-hosted by Greater Minnesota Parks and Trails (GMPT) and the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission (GMRPTC)! Our annual meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 17, at the Woodland Trails Regional Park in Elk River (20135 Elk Lake Road, Elk River, MN 55330) with events beginning at 10:00 a.m.
We’ve got a great agenda lined up! GMPT lobbyist Elizabeth Wefel will kick off the day with a recap of the craziness that defined this past legislative session, highlighting the progress made in parks and trails policy and programs. DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen will talk about advancing parks and trails projects and how the agency can work with our members. We will also host a discussion on what accessibility looks like for parks and trails in the future. During lunch, we will have an open forum followed by a presentation from Duluth Park and Recreation professionals, who will discuss how they created a mobile bike fleet and the ways in which they are using it to reach out to underserved communities.
Thought that was enough excitement? Not even close! We will cap off the day with an immersive archery experience and a tour of the beautiful Woodland Trails Regional Park. DNR staff in charge of running their local parks and trails grants programs will also be there to meet our members. This year’s Summer Meeting will surely be one for the books, so sign up today!
Lunch will be provided for those attending in person, so we ask that you please register in advance via the link above. The $30 fee includes coffee and lunch. Click here to view the full agenda.
