Share your ideas and concerns with other parks & trails professionals at GMPT forums!

On Thursday, Governor Walz announced an extension of the stay-at home orders (EO 20-48). The extension asks Minnesotans to stay at home and practice social distancing until May 18. The new order includes some changes to retail business openings, but it seems all of the outdoor recreation recommendations have stayed pretty much the same from EO 20-38.

Questions continue to rise as we learn more about the virus, refine the restrictions put in place by executive orders, and look to the future for reopening our park and trail amenities. You are not alone, and we all have questions and concerns that are better solved by working as a statewide team of professionals in the business.

This is why the Greater Minnesota Parks and Trails board has decided to launch a series of interactive forums for our members around the state. We want to provide a place for everyone to meet and discuss things like:

  • What does recovery look like?
  • What are you hearing?
  • What does ‘normal’ look like now and post incident?
  • What does ‘safety’ look like?
  • What does the customer experience look like?
  • What’s the silver lining?
  • Consider operations
  • Consider users
  • Consider staffing
  • Consider the physical environment

Please join members of the GMPT board via Zoom meetings to ask questions, raise concerns, and provide insight to others. We will host two forums the first week of May to allow more people the chance to catch a forum. With feedback from the first two meetings we will determine how often you would like to see these forums.

Forums will be held via Zoom on:
