ATZ Manufacturing is a second-generation, family-owned business based in Marshall, Minnesota. Formerly known as Action Manufacturing, we evolved into ATZ Manufacturing to reflect our commitment to delivering custom solutions across industries beyond mobility—all powered by our innovative track system.

With a mission to return his son’s access to the great outdoors, Tim Swenson sketched a crude drawing of the first all-terrain wheelchair in his hobby shop in the fall of 2008. With a simple bent-tube steel frame, two snowmobile tracks, a broken boat seat, some crafty engineering, and a vision, the first Action Trackchair® was born. With its innovative design and unique ability to empower independence, the Action Trackchair® rapidly gained popularity, allowing Swenson to establish a global network of 53 authorized dealers spanning the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, Norway, and Spain.

The Action Trackchair® has been a life-changing innovation for thousands of individuals and families. Over the past 15 years, we have witnessed countless impact stories, forged meaningful partnerships, and met incredible people along the way. Today, more than 160 Action Trackchairs® are available for public use in 25 states—22 of which are right here in Minnesota.

Recognizing the growing demand for accessible outdoor recreation, we launched Trackchair Finder in 2024—an interactive tool that helps individuals with mobility challenges quickly locate and reserve public-use Action Trackchairs®. This database simplifies the search process, offering an intuitive scheduling system to check availability and make reservations with ease.
