DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen to speak at GMPT Legislative Action Day

We are excited to announce that Minnesota’s new DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen has accepted our invitation to speak at Legislative Action Day on Feb. 13! This is the first time in recent memory that we’ve had the DNR commissioner at one our GMPT meetings, so we are very much looking forward to hearing about her goals for the state and her vision for parks and trails in Greater Minnesota.

Another piece of exciting news is that 15 students from Minnesota State University, Mankato will also be joining us for Legislative Action Day next week to help us advocate for issues that are important to our organization. We hope you will join us in welcoming your future colleagues.

There is still time to register for Legislative Action Day if you have not yet done so. Please sign up using this Legislative Action Day registration form.

The day will kick off at 10 a.m. on Feb. 13 at the Office of Flaherty & Hood (located at 525 Park Street in St. Paul) with presentations, speakers and lobbying tips (Commissioner Strommen is scheduled to speak at 11:15 a.m.), followed by lunch, a tour of the Capitol complex and opportunities to meet with your legislators in the afternoon. See the full updated agenda here.

We are looking forward to a great event!
