DNR grant award recipients for park & trail projects

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recently announced grant recipients for park and trail projects across Minnesota. Funding for these projects falls under the following grant programs: outdoor recreation, regional trail, local trail connections, and federal recreational trails.

Congratulations to all the GMPT Members who received state funded grants, including the following:

  • Albert Lea
  • Bemidji
  • Crow Wing County
  • Duluth
  • Faribault
  • Freeborn County
  • La Crescent
  • Lake County
  • Mankato
  • Owatonna
  • Perham
  • Rochester

Although our legislative work on Legacy funding may be more visible, increasing and maintaining funding for these state grant programs has been another top priority for our organization over the last decade. We are thrilled to see so many members seeking and receiving these grants!

The full lists of grant recipients for each program can be viewed via the following links:

These grants help local governments throughout the state create partnerships with the DNR to fund projects ranging from local parks, regional trails to trail connections.

For future applicants, the eligibility requirements, deadlines, contact information, and other details can be found on the DNR website at mndnr.gov or on the following program links:
