Help fellow trail visitors plan their adventure with MN Bike & Go

The University of Minnesota (UMN) is requesting your help updating their bike trail resource known as “MN Bike and Go,” a project started during the COVID-19 pandemic that offers insight to trail users when planning their next outdoor adventure. MN Bike and Go allows people to enter and view the location of public toilets (permanent and portable) along bike (and dual biking-walking) trails and paths throughout Minnesota on an interactive map using GIS (geographic information systems). It also allows them to rate the features and conditions of those facilities using a short survey.

Many trail facilities have gone through changes over the last few years, and the UMN is asking the public to help update information on the Bike and Go map by completing a short survey. This survey will collect and post info about restroom features such as cleanliness, open hours, flush or no-flush, handwashing and toilet paper supplies, etc., which makes it unique and more useful than other existing maps and apps.

This is an ongoing project with a goal to collect as much information as possible to build a database of public restrooms/toilets near bicycling paths and routes throughout Minnesota. This resource is not only helpful but aims to promote a safe and healthy ride for all those seeking to enjoy the outdoors.

To submit feedback and information, please fill out the survey on the MN Bike and Go website here. For updates on the project, follow MN Bike and Go on social media here.
