Sherburne County received the Blazing Star Award from Conservation Minnesota at their Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, December 19. The award acknowledges exceptional local government projects that advance conservation, climate resilience, environmental protection, or outdoor recreation opportunities.

Has your city or county done a unique or innovative project that advances conservation, environmental protection, or outdoor recreation opportunities since 2023? If so, consider applying for Conservation Minnesota’s Blazing star award which recognizes the same characteristics as a Blazing Star plant—hardy, adaptable, and environmentally friendly. Past winners include GMPT member Sherburne County, so feel free to reach out with questions about their award process!
