Save the date! Workshop focused on mussel identification
The Minnesota Naturalists’ Association (MNA) will be hosting a mussel identification class and facility tour at the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Center for Aquatic Mollusk Program on March 26, 2026.
MNA sponsors several free or low-cost professional development opportunities at venues around the Minneapolis and St. Paul Metro Area. Workshops are focused on content and practice for both naturalist staff and volunteers on topics including natural/cultural history, citizen science, recreation, and outdoor skills.
This event will be a mussel intensive workshop, so come prepared to dip your hands right in! The day will begin with a 3-hour class on mussel ID and life cycles, during which attendees will be handling mussels, so wear something that you can roll the sleeve up on.
Later in the day, attendees will go on a facility tour to see the mussel propagation process. A free lunch will be provided. For more information and registration, visit the MNA website here.
