From the Chair: Fall is full of feels

Below is a message from GMPT Chair Gina Hugo. You can reach her at gina.hugo@co.sherburne.mn.us.

As the harvest moon wanes and the leaves begin to fall, this time of year is bittersweet for us in the Parks and Trails world! The energy of spring and summer is awesome and exhausting at the same time, and preparing to close our campgrounds, beaches, and summer programs comes with mixed emotions. It is with gratitude that we have the camaraderie of our GMPT members! Our relationships with one another as Parks & Trail professionals are so valuable to Greater Minnesota—the opportunities to learn together and from each other help us improve outdoor recreation in all our facilities.

Join us for the next in-person opportunity at Hartley Nature Center on October 9th, with events beginning at 10:00 a.m. Our annual Fall Meetings are pivotal to the organization as we prepare for the upcoming year by holding the election for new board members, setting our legislative agenda, and approving our policies. We will also have a mini-workshop session on Conducting Recreational Surveys and are pleased to welcome special guest Senator Grant Hauschild (DFL-Hermantown). So, make sure you register today!

Food and refreshments will be provided for those attending in person, so we ask that you please register in advance via the link above. The $30 fee includes coffee, a light breakfast, and lunch. We hope to see you all there!
