GMPT Legislative Action Week is Feb. 14 – 18!

• 10 a.m. – Introduction and Welcome – Ben Anderson, GMPT Chair
• 10:10 a.m. – Legislative Priorities and Session Overview – Ben Anderson and Elizabeth Wefel, GMPT Lobbyist
• 10:20 a.m. – Everything You Need to Know About Lobbying but Were Afraid to Ask – Elizabeth Wefel
• 11 a.m. – Updates on DNR’s Legislative Goals, Long-Range Planning, and Partnering With Local Parks & Trails – Sarah Strommen, DNR Commissioner
• 11:30 a.m. – Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission Update – Renee Mattson, GMRPTC Executive Director

Meet With Legislators

Since some legislative offices and buildings are still closed to the public, we have scheduled several Zoom meetings with legislators as part of Legislative Action Week. We’d love to have GMPT members join us for these meetings with members of the House and Senate Capital Investment Committees.

Here are the meetings we have scheduled so far (UPDATED AS OF 9 a.m. 2/14/2022)

• Monday, Feb. 14, 3 p.m. – Sen. Sandy Pappas (DFL-St. Paul)
• Tuesday, Feb. 15, 3:30 p.m. (previously scheduled for 2 p.m.) – Rep. Esther Agbaje (DFL-Minneapolis) 
• Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2:30 p.m. – Rep. Mike Freiberg (DFL-Golden Valley)
• Wednesday, Feb. 16, 11:30 a.m. – Rep. Dean Urdahl (R-Grove City)
• Thursday, Feb 17, 10:30 a.m. – Rep. Greg Davids (R-Preston)
• Thursday, Feb 17, 11:30 a.m. – Rep. Kaela Berg (DFL-Burnsville)
• Thursday, Feb. 17, 1:15 p.m. – Rep. Jordan Rasmusson (R-Fergus Falls)
